Kathryn Zdan, AEA                NYLO Agency

Is an actor/model/creator/teacher/bon vivant based in the San Francisco Bay Area. A native of Mill Valley, CA, Kathryn received her BFA in Theatre from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and her MFA in Ensemble Based Physical Theatre from the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre.  After graduate school, she performed and toured Europe with the internationally acclaimed, Amsterdam-based street theatre and performance art group, Warner & Consorten.  She has been performing and teaching professionally in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 2009.  

Companies she has performed with in the San Francisco Bay Area include Marin Theatre Company, TheatreWorks, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Livermore Shakespeare Festival, Crowded Fire Theater, The Shotgun Players, Magic Theatre, CenterREP, Central Works, Woodminster, Berkeley Playhouse, Impact Theatre, and Town Hall Theatre Company.  In 2012 she did a rock opera about Emma Goldman in Santa Fe, NM, which rocked her face off (both the show and the town.)  The album Love & Emma Goldman: A Rock Opera is available for purchase on iTunes.

Kathryn is also the newest member of Improv super-group, Improv Playhouse of San Francisco. http://improvplayhousesf.com/

She has taught and directed in the San Francisco Bay Area for CalShakes, Berkeley Playhouse, StarStruck, Marin Youth Performers, Mill Valley Middle School, Musically Minded Academy, The Flying Actor Studio, Little Opera, Berkwood Hedge Elementary, Marin Theatre Company, and Steve and Kate's camp.  She was a guest artist and director year-round at Tamalpais High School's Conservatory Theatre Ensemble with a specialty in movement and physical theater. She also taught a course on Culture & Gender in Performance at Napa Valley College.

Oh, and she directs a bunch too.  Mostly with young people, but when pressed, she can be talked into directing adults too.  Oh, and she choreographs as well.  And is a movement director.  You know what?  She does all kinds of things.  

She is passionate about mindful living, she's got a dedicated yoga practice, she lives in an artist's cooperative, she's an avid hiker, a whiz in the kitchen, a bookworm, a knitter, and a snappy dresser.  You can also read her writing about crying in public, grief, and emotions in general at cantnotcry.com
